Guyed Transmission Tower

Guyed Transmission Tower
Details:
Need a tall mast without paying for a thick self-supporting lattice? Our guyed transmission tower is a slender steel mast held plumb by galvanized guy wires, 30 to 200 m tall. The guys carry most sideways load, so the mast stays thin. That is where the savings come in. On an open site it is usually the cheapest way up.

A guyed transmission tower stays thin because its cables take the sideways push, instead of a heavy self-supporting body. Picture a central truss shaft with guys running out to anchors around it. We add fresh guy layers up the shaft so the mast bends very little even in a hard storm. The whole point is economics: it uses far less steel than a free-standing tower of the same height, and the sections are light enough for a small crew to manhandle into a remote field. The trade-off is land. The anchors need room to fan out, so this design suits farmland, hillsides and coastlines, not a tight downtown block.

Product Advantages

Pays off above the height where a free-standing lattice turns heavy

Sections pack into a standard container and go up fast on site

Mast and guys are hot-dip galvanized for outdoor exposure

Small base footing; the anchors carry the sideways load

FAQ

Q: How much ground around the base do I have to clear?

A: The guys and anchors fan out, so you want a wide open plot. A guyed transmission tower works on rural land; it does not fit a tight urban corner.

Q: How do you keep the mast from leaning?

A: We tension the guys layer by layer until the mast reads straight.

Q: What about typhoon zones?

A: We size it to your local return-period wind and seismic numbers.
